Established in 1912, Lyall Bay Bowling Club is one of the oldest clubs in the Eastern Suburbs of Wellington.
A growing, competitive club with a good mix of men and women, we enjoy the competition on the green as well as enjoying the company of fellow members off the green. We have an active social side to the club with pool tables, dart boards, indoor bowls and plenty of TV's to watch regular sporting events.
With our Men competing in the Wellington Premier Interclub division and our Ladies in Premier Reserve we boast strong teams with great backup in Premier reserve and Eights divisions. Our club competitions are always strong and with continual growth in our membership we are fast becoming one of the leading clubs in Wellington.
We were the 1st club in the Wellington area to replace our natural grass greens with Tiger Turf 'Greenweave' carpet, this gives us an all-weather surface that is proving a hit amongst our members and fellow bowlers. With carpet this gives our players a soft surface to play on, without the lumps and bumps of a conventional green when you play a good shot, it is a good shot. (we still have a bit of wind though being in Wellington).
Whether you are interested in becoming a bowler or simply looking for a club to enjoy the social side we would love to talk with you about becoming a member. Come in and introduce yourself to one of our committee members or club members.
